Love In Submission
Love In Submission is a feminist play centered around a Muslim woman exploring polygamy in its truest form. The play incites questions on the blurred lines between spirituality, religion and the practice of true love. Love in Submission held its first reading in July 2013 at the Alchemical Theatre Lab in New York, directed by Michole Biancosino of Project Y Theatre. Look out for its October 2015 reading with CoLAB Arts, directed by Dan Swern!
“Antu Yacob’s voice is funny and sincere with a rich playful dialogue that when it cuts, cuts deeply. In Love in Submission she presents a new paradigm for what it means to be a stranger in a strange land. Language and religion may separate us, but differences in the politics and culture of love and sex are truly alienating.”
